翻訳プロジェクト企画「Re: Art Workers：『Art Workers』著書ジュリア・ブライアン=ウィルソンを招いて」

概要

読書会から発展し、現在『アートワーカーズ ベトナム戦争時代のラディカルな実践』（2009年）を翻訳中の面々が、著書ジュリア・ブライアン=ウィルソン氏に書籍について質疑応答を行います。11月3日（木・祝）、日本時間の10時より。『アートワーカーズ』は半世紀前のニューヨークでの出来事の分析が中心ですが、現在の日本のアートワーカー（芸術に何らかの形で関わる仕事をする人たち）の状況を考える一助にもなればと考えています。

Q&A session with Julia Bryan-Wilson, author of Art Workers: Radical Practices in the Vietnam War Era (2009), will take place on November 3rd at 10:00 am (JST).The Japanese translation team for Art Workers is currently working toward publication after completing a year-long reading session. Revisiting the various practices that took place in New York half a century ago with the author, we hope to forge a hub to start a discussion surrounding the artistic labor in the Japanese art world since the 1960s and the current state of “art workers” who are engaged in any part of art production in Japan.

ジュリア・ブライアン=ウィルソン　Julia Bryan-Wilson

ジュリア・ブライアン=ウィルソンは、『アートワーカーズ ベトナム戦争時代のラディカルな実践』（2009年）の著者。近刊に「Fray: Art and Textile Politics (University of Chicago, 2017年)、「Louise Nevelson's Sculpture: Drag, Color, Join, Face」（イェール大学、2023年）など。サンパウロ美術館のキュレーターとして、1900年以前の女性が制作したテキスタイルや絵画を集めた「女性の歴史」展を共同企画した。 現在、コロンビア大学で現代美術とLGBTQ研究を教えている。

Julia Bryan-Wilson is the award-winning author of Art Workers: Radical Practice in the Vietnam War Era (2009); Fray: Art and Textile Politics (University of Chicago, 2017); and the forthcoming book Louise Nevelson's Sculpture: Drag, Color, Join, Face (Yale, 2023). As a curator at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo, she co-organized the exhibition Women's Histories, which brought together textiles and paintings made by women before 1900.  She currently teaches contemporary art and LGBTQ studies at Columbia University.  

高橋沙也葉　Sayaha Takahashi

京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科博士後期課程、および日本学術振興会特別研究員（DC1）。2022年9月よりデューク大学アジア・太平洋研究センター客員研究員。1960年代末の彫刻とその記録を中心に、アメリカと日本のアートシーンの交差の研究を行う。

Sayaha Takahashi is a doctoral student at Kyoto University, Japan, where her research focuses on the late 1960s sculptures and issues of documentation, as well as the intersections of the American and Japanese art worlds. Her research has been supported by the Japan Society for Promotion of Science and by MEXT, Japan, and she is the 2022-2023 visiting scholar at Duke University Asian/Pacific Studies Institute. She has contributed to various curatorial and scholarly projects, including as a curatorial intern at the National Museum of Art, Osaka, and at the USC Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena.

松本理沙　Risa Matsumoto

京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科博士後期課程在籍。京都教育大学、京都精華大学非常勤講師。アメリカにおける1970年代から90年代のパブリックアート研究を行う。主な論文に「ホームレスとの協働からみるクシシュトフ・ヴォディチコ《ホームレス・ヴィークル》―機能性の考察を通して」（『表象』第16号）がある。

Risa Matsumoto is a doctoral student at Kyoto University, and part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of Education and Kyoto Seika University, Japan. Her research focuses on American art in the public space from the 1970s to the 1990s. Main academic paper: “ The Collaboration with Homeless People in Homeless Vehicle by Krzysztof Wodiczko,” Hyosho, vol.16.

武澤里映　Rie Takezawa

兵庫県立美術館学芸員、大阪大学大学院文学研究科博士前期課程在籍。アラン・カプローのパフォーマンスに関する研究を中心に、エフェメラルな作品の記録・保存に関⼼を持つ。

Rie Takezawa is a curator at Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art and in the master’s course at Osaka University, where their research focus on Allan Kaprow's performances and they are interested in the documentation and preservation of ephemeral works.

長谷川新　Arata Hasegawa

インディペンデントキュレーター。主な企画に「クロニクル、クロニクル！」(2016-2017年)、「不純物と免疫」(2017-2018年)、「STAYTUNE/D」（2019年）、「グランリバース」（2019年-）、「約束の凝集」(2020-2021年)など。PARADISE AIRゲストキュレーター。国立民族学博物館共同研究員。日本建築学会書評委員。相談所SNZ。
Arata Hasegawa is an independent curator whose past projects include Chronicle,Chronicle! (2016-2017, Osaka), Impurity / Immunity (2017-2018, Tokyo, Okinawa, Bangkok), STAYTUNE/D (2019, Toyama), GRAND REVERSE (2019-, Mexico City), Halfway Happy (2020-2021, Tokyo).He is the guest curator for PARADISE AIR, and is a Collaborative Researcher at the National Museum of Ethnography, an official reviewer for the Architectural Institute of Japan and a co-organizer of SNZ, “Soudan” office.

概要：Julia Bryan-Wilson, Art Workers: Radical Practice in the Vietnam War Era, 2009 を読みます。
基本的な流れ：当日までに、各回担当者は簡単な要約を作成する。ファシリテーターの長谷川新による進行のもとで輪読し、文献についての理解を確認しつつ議論する。
